NICE TO MEET YOU – I'M SARA! 🌿🌸
I help parents raise kind and considerate children that "listen" using a Montessori-inspired gentle parenting approach that actually works.Â
I promise you this – you CAN use "gentle parenting" and have cooperative and respectful children that follow directions the first time (and a plan to support them when they don't)!
I have always loved babies and children. With my Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Education, I have worked with young children in a variety of settings for my entire career. Early childhood is my favorite stage!
After a few years of teaching in public elementary schools, I was introduced to the Montessori philosophy – I fell in love and never looked back.Â
The Montessori philosophy is grounded in a deep love and respect for children and childhood.Â
Teachers use gentle, kind, and respectful strategies to guide children’s learning and behavior.Â
Young children are viewed as worthy and capable, and there are high expectations for their behavior.Â
After five years of working in Montessori preschools in the Boston area, I transitioned to teaching first grade at a local private school. So many of the helpful Montessori elements transferred extremely well to a non-Montessori environment.Â
Six years later I co-founded a nature preschool and continued to use and refine the Montessori ideas I had learned, confirming that connection-based strategies that honor children and childhood can work anywhere.
In both school environments, the core beliefs and behavior guidance strategies helped foster a peaceful, loving, and fun environment where children thrived.
My son was a toddler when I started my Montessori training, making it the perfect time for me to see Montessori theory in action at home and in school.
Dr. Montessori's insights into child development gave me a new perspective on my son and his behavior and helped me understand him in a whole new light.
I practiced Montessori strategies in the classroom and applied them at home, transforming my parenting approach, and bringing more peace and less overwhelm for me and my family.Â
It is my mission to help parents like you realize you can have it all –Â
You can be respectful, caring, and kind and raise children who are the same.Â
